Why do Entrepreneurs come to CTAN?

Entrepreneurs who need capital and/or expertise to build their businesses can benefit from this unique funding option. The Central Texas Angel Network is designed to help early-stage companies grow to profitability and/or grow to Venture Capital scale investments.

Before applying to CTAN, ensure that you've taken advantage of the many opportunties available to central Texas entrepreneurs (see resources to the left).  These will help you refine your business plan, develop a go-to-market strategy and help prepare you for the kind of questions investors are going to ask. 

Entrepreneurial Resources and Funding Sources in Central Texas

In addition to educational resources, these information sessions discuss funding criteria for local entrepreneurs seeking seed and early-stage funding. Experts on the Texas Emerging Technology Fund and the Central Texas Angel Network will be on hand to present information on the funding criteria of those sources and entertain entrepreneurs' questions about their specific situations. The sessions will last from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on the following dates:

The Application Process

The Central Texas Angel Network seeks business plans meeting our submission criteria. Please submit your business plan if it meets the following three requirements:

  1. Deal based in Texas
  2. Companies are a Delware C-Corp (criteria may be waived; contact Executive Director before applying)
  3. Total fund raise no greater than $2M (any deal above $1M must come with a lead investor and a terms sheet)
  4. Premoney valuation no greater than $10M
  5. Completed or near-completed product and/or service offering (CTAN will invest in "seed-stage" startups; contact Executive Director before applying)

Please submit your business plan before these dates to be considered for the Presentation Meeting the following month. Submission deadlines for the CTAN Screening Meetings are at 12p on the following dates:
